If you’ve always wanted to start and teach a group piano keyboard program at your school or just need new ideas, Keyboards in the Classroom will show you how. Public and private classroom music teachers will have an opportunity to create more music-makers at their school and complement existing band, orchestra and choir programs. Not only are group keyboard classes a fun and enriching activity, but college-bound students who aspire to become band and orchestra directors will get a head start on learning the keyboard skills that will be required to earn their music education degree. And adding group piano as a classroom option will strengthen your job position by adding more students to your teaching load.

Mr. Mark Linn is in his twenty-fifth year teaching at Parkway North High School. In addition to teaching Symphonic, Concert, Marching and Jazz Bands. Mr. Linn has also successfully taught group Piano I and II classes for fifteen years.
Mark received a Bachelor in Music Education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory where he won the prestigious Concerto Aria Award. Linn went on to earn a Master of Arts degree from the University of Wyoming. He has taught and adjudicated at all levels from elementary to collegiate in Missouri, Wyoming and Colorado. Mr. Linn was principal horn for the Kirkwood, Clayton and St. Louis Civic Orchestras from 1995 – 2009 before joining the Town and Country Symphony in 2010. Linn is married to pianist and composer Jennifer Linn and has two wonderful adult children, Andrew and Meaghan.
An accomplished pianist and teacher, Mona Rejino is co-author and contributing composer and arranger for the Hal Leonard Student Piano Library. Ms. Rejino maintains an independent piano studio in Carrollton, Texas, where she has taught students of all ages and levels since 1983, as well as teaching privately at the Hockaday School in Dallas. She frequently adjudicates festivals and competitions throughout the Dallas area. Mona is a member of Who’s Who of American Women. Other professional achievements include two recordings, Music for the Adult Student and Pupil Savers, produced and distributed by the National Piano Foundation. Her compositions have been featured in Keys magazine. Ms. Rejino received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music at West Texas State University, and completed her Master of Music in Piano Performance at the University of North Texas under pianist Joseph Banowetz. She and her husband, Richard, frequently work together presenting programs on a variety of topics for music teacher associations throughout the Dallas area and at state and national conventions.
Linda Christensen received her Ph.D. in Piano Pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma. She is a frequent presenter for regional, national, and international conferences. She has a diverse background in the music industry including teaching at the collegiate level and privately for over 20 years, working in the music industry for piano retail and for music app developers, and her current position in the Maryland public schools. Linda’s presentations focus on practical suggestions for music teaching and technology integration in the music lesson.
